Pan-Tilt HAT: set of horizontal and vertical motion servos

The Pan-Tilt HAT is perfect for a mini CCTV system (Closed Circuit Television), horizontal and vertical motion servos will grant you Raspberry Pi camera easy movement.

Pan-Tilt HAT allows you to mount and control a pan-tilt module on top of your Raspberry Pi. You can drive RGB NeoPixel or RGW LEDs, drive as much as 24 regular LED with PWM control or drive the two servos, pan and tilt, all of them independently, thanks to the HAT with its on-board microcontroller. You can route the servo, camera cables and LED through a very useful slot devised here. The module presents a 180 degrees motion (pans and tilts) in each axis.

Pan-Tilt HAT can be used with a Raspberry Pi camera for an easy face-tracking or be mounted on top of your roving robot just as a sharp set of eyes.

Unless the optional NeoPixel strip or ring is used, no soldering is required, as female jumper wires are attached to the servos that are on the pan-tilt module and a line of right-angled header pins is soldered to the underside of the HAT in order to connect them up.

A handy and tiny acrylic camera mount is included. It will allow your camera to be tightly held onto the pan-tilt module. At the top of the mount there are a couple of mounting holes to hold a NeoPixel stick while a fine little frosted diffuser generates a dreamy light. The Adafruit RGBW NeoPixel sticks are a clever choice, as they offer a beautiful pure white or whatever other colour you may choose.

Note: Raspberry Pi camera, Raspberry Pi 3 board and Pibow case, female to female jumper wires, male header and NeoPixel strip are not included in this Pan-Tilt HAT full kit You have to pick them up separately.

Software
It is extremely easy to control the Pan-Tilt HAT thanks to a very simple Python library for Pan-Tilt HAT. Just decide to which angle (from -90 to +90 degrees) you want Pan-Tilt HAT to pan or tilt and it is done. A couple of examples will demonstrate how to pan and tilt, and how to control connected NeoPixels.

This software DOES NOT support Raspbian Wheezy.

Notes
Servos draw a lot of current, this is the reason why a high quality 2.5A power supply is recommended. The official Raspberry Pi power supply is the ideal.

Raspberry Pi camera, Raspberry Pi 3 board and Pibow case, female to female jumper wires, male header and NeoPixel strip ARE NOT INCLUDED.

The brown colored wires of the servo cables must be connected to the GND pins that are on the servo channels.

Pan is controlled by channel 1 while tilt is controlled by channel 2. These can easily be swapped in software.
