Bonnet per motori DC e Stepper per Raspberry Pi

This new Adafruit DC + Stepper Motor Bonnet is the ideal product if you want to build your favourite robotics projects.

This Raspberry Pi add-on can drive up to 4 DC motors or 2 stepper motors, with the added benefit of full PWM speed control. This makes it perfect for any motion-based project. It is essentially the highly popular Adafruit DC + Stepper Motor HAT in a compact form factor, fully assembled with no soldering required.

It works with all Raspberry Pi boards featuring a 40-pin GPIO header. Please note: Raspberry Pi boards and motors are not included.

As you may know, Raspberry Pi boards do not offer many PWM pins, but this Motor Bonnet includes a dedicated onboard PWM driver chip. This chip controls both motor direction and speed, managing all motor control via I2C. Only two pins (SDA and SCL) are required to drive multiple motors, and since it uses I2C, you can also connect other I2C devices or HATs on the same bus.

Another great feature is that you can stack up to 32 Motor Bonnets, allowing control of up to 64 stepper motors or 128 DC motors, or a mix of both. Please note that a 2×20 stacking header is required for this setup.

TB6612 MOSFET drivers control motors with a current capability of 1.2A per channel (it is possible to draw up to 3A peak for about 20ms at a time), which is definitely better than with L293D drivers, and, in addition, flyback diodes are built-in as well. Your Raspberry Pi and the Bonnet are also protected from wiring or power mistakes thanks to reliable FET-based polarity protection. The Bonnet is shipped fully assembled and tested—simply plug it into your Raspberry Pi to get started.

DC & Stepper Motor Bonnet Specifications:

  • 4 H-Bridge TB6612 chipset providing 1.2A per bridge, with thermal shutdown protection and built-in kickback protection diodes. Supports motors from 4.5VDC to 13.5VDC.
  • Up to 4 bi-directional DC motors with individual 8-bit speed control (approx. 0.5% resolution)
  • Up to 2 stepper motors (unipolar or bipolar), including single coil, double coil, interleaved, and micro-stepping modes.
  • Screw terminal blocks for easy connection of wires (18–26 AWG) and power
  • 2-pin power terminal block (with polarity protection) and jumper for external 5–12VDC power supply
  • Fully compatible with all 40-pin Raspberry Pi models: Zero, A+, B+, Pi 2, Pi 3, Pi 4. Can also be used with Raspberry Pi A and B models with a 2×13 stacking header
  • Python library available with examples to get started quickly!

The Bonnet comes fully assembled and tested, with terminal blocks and a 2×20 GPIO header already attached. Raspberry Pi board, motors, and battery pack are not included.

You can refer to the detailed Adafruit tutorial for extensive information, Python libraries, examples, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Please note that terminal blocks included in this product may be either blue or black.
