PiCan Prototyping Shield

The design of this small PiCan prototyping shield allows it to fit perfectly onto an Arduino MKR board or a Canzero: you simply need to solder two 14-pin headers and connect it. It is the ideal product for prototyping your new creations within an IoT project.

For each pin on the MKR board header, you will find two breakout pins. In addition, to make the shield connection more stable and secure with other components, there are two spaces for:

  • A standard 3.5mm pitch screw terminal block (2, 3, or 4 pins), and
  • A JST PH connector (for 2, 3, or 4 pins). You can also consider other compatible 2mm pitch headers such as Seeedstudio Grove or Adafruit Stemma connectors.

On the PCB, two rows are pre-connected to the board power supply through the MKR headers: GND pin and 3.3V (VCC) pin.

The PCB is ENIG coated. This ensures better soldering quality.

Prototyping Shield Kit Contents:

  • Prototype shield PCB.
  • 40-pin breakaway male header, gold plated

Please note that the 3.5mm pitch terminal block and JST headers are not included.
