Emerald Green Case/Heatsink for Raspberry Pi 4

This superb case offers the great advantage of combining the features of a heat sink within a single emerald-green case. This anodised aluminium case for the Raspberry Pi 4 guarantees passive cooling of 10–15°C under full CPU load.

This case will not only protect your Raspberry Pi 4 but also ensure the best possible passive cooling, as confirmed by numerous and extensive tests. It is also perfect if you want completely silent cooling.

This product includes a thermal pad that ensures thermal contact between the CPU and the top of the case. It also comes with a very useful hex key and a set of hex screws for mounting the case.

The design of this case allows you access to all the ports, connectors and pins on your RPI 4. Furthermore, you can use slim-profile HATs and pHATs (HATs/pHATs that do not have bulky components on their underside) by using a header booster. Be careful, however, not to short-circuit any components on the metal top of the case.

Emerald Green Aluminum Heatsink Case Features

  • Thermal pad.
  • Hex key (Allen key) and hex head screw set included.
  • Access to all ports, connectors, and pins on the RPI.
  • Compatible with Raspberry Pi 4.

Raspberry Pi 4 board not included. It can be purchased separately.

How to Assemble the Aluminium Heat Sink Case Correctly

It takes about a couple of minutes to assemble this case, as it is very straightforward. Remember that you must be absolutely certain that your RPI 4 board is switched off and unplugged before inserting it into the case.

To begin with, you need to remove both protective films from the thermal pad (there is one on each side). On one side of the pad, the film is white, while on the other it is transparent and easy to overlook. Attach the thermal pad to the CPU of your RPI 4 (i.e. the metal square closest to the centre of the PCB), as shown in the images below.

The easiest way to position the thermal pad correctly is to attach it first to the CPU and then to the case. Only use a thermal pad with the Raspberry Pi 4 board.

Put the top of the case back in place and then, while holding it steady, turn the whole thing upside down and place the bottom of the case onto the underside of your RPI 4. Use the four hex screws and the Allen key to finally secure the case.

Notes

  • Don’t forget that the case is made of metal and is therefore a good conductor; bear in mind that you must be careful to avoid possible short circuits with other components. Make sure your RPI 4 is switched off and unplugged when you fit it into the case.
  • Remember that the case will obviously get hot during use.
  • Raspberry Pi 4 board not included. It can be purchased separately.
