WiFi microcontroller ESP8266 SMT Module – ESP-12
With this lovely, bite-sized WiFi microcontroller, you can add Internet to your next project, at an extraordinary low price.
This ESP8266 processor from Espressif is actually an 80 MHz microcontroller. It comes with a full WiFi front-end (either as client and access point) and also TCP/IP stack with DNS support. It is possible to easily to hand solder these modules, with big pads. You can find how to do it in the Adafruit Eagle library (ESP12).
The ESP8266 SMT Module – ESP-12 comes with 4MB flash chip, onboard antenna and ESP processory. As these are already pre-progammed with the NodeMCU Lua firmware, it wont take you much time to start using it. To get this going, some extra parts will be necessary. Consult the HUZZAH schematic to find the extra components recommended by Adafruit.
VERY IMPORTANT: THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY FOR ADVANCED USERS. It is just the module, and it might be difficult to use.
