Aluminium Heatsink Case for Raspberry Pi 4 – Zircon Blue

This zircon blue case is not only stylish but also offers the convenient advantage of combining case and heatsink features in one. This fantastic anodized aluminum case for the Raspberry Pi 4 development board provides passive cooling of 10–15°C under full CPU load.

This fabulous heatsink case will not only protect your RPI 4 but also deliver the best passive cooling, as confirmed by numerous extensive tests. It’s also the ideal case if you want absolutely silent cooling.

The case ships with a thermal pad to ensure thermal contact between the CPU and the top of the case, as well as a handy hex key and a set of hex head screws for assembly.

This aluminum case allows access to all ports, connectors, and pins on the RPI 4. You can also use slim-profile HATs and pHATs (those without bulky components on the underside) with a booster header, as long as you’re careful not to short any components against the metal top of the case.

Blue Aluminum Heatsink Case Features

  • Anodized aluminum case top and base.
  • Zircon Blue colour.
  • Heatsink fins.
  • Thermal pad.
  • Hex key (Allen key) and hex head screw set included.
  • Access to all ports, connectors, and pins on the RPI.
  • Compatible with Raspberry Pi 4.

Raspberry Pi 4 board not included. It can be purchased separately.

How to Properly Assemble the Aluminum Heatsink Case

Assembling this case is very easy and takes just a couple of minutes. However, make absolutely sure your Raspberry Pi 4 board is powered off and unplugged before installing it in the case.

Remove the two protective films from both sides of the thermal pad. (The film is white on one side and transparent on the other—the transparent one is easy to miss.) Attach the thermal pad to your Raspberry Pi’s CPU (the metal square closest to the center of the PCB), as shown in the following images.

The easiest way to position the pad correctly is to attach it to the CPU first, then to the case. Use only one thermal pad with the Raspberry Pi 4.

Place the case top in position, then, holding it firmly, flip everything over and place the bottom of the case onto the underside of your RPI 4 board. Use the four hex screws and the key to secure the case.

Notes

  • Remember that the case is metal and therefore a good conductor, so be careful of possible short circuits with other components. Make sure your Raspberry Pi 4 board is powered off and unplugged when installing it in the case.
  • Remember that the case will obviously get hot during use.
  • Raspberry Pi 4 board not included. It can be purchased separately.
