{"id":13547,"date":"2021-01-15T19:32:15","date_gmt":"2021-01-15T18:32:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pilover.com\/negozio\/non-volatile-i2c-fram-breakout\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T15:17:47","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T13:17:47","slug":"non-volatile-i2c-fram-breakout","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.pilover.com\/en\/shop\/non-volatile-i2c-fram-breakout\/","title":{"rendered":"Non-volatile I2C FRAM Breakout"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Non-volatile I2C FRAM Breakout \u2013 256Kbit \/ 32Kbyte<\/h2>\n<p><strong>This product features a FRAM<\/strong>, or Ferroelectric RAM, which is similar to \u2018Dynamic random-access memory\u2019, except that <strong>FRAM uses a layer of ferroelectric material<\/strong> instead of a dielectric layer.<br \/>\nThe ferroelectricity gives this product stable data retention (the bytes you write are non-volatile) combined with dynamic responsiveness (meaning you can write to it very quickly).<\/p>\n<p>This I2C FRAM breakout board allows you to add some FRAM memory to your DIY project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Features of the Non-volatile I2C FRAM Breakout:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FRAM enables lower power consumption and offers faster write performance.<\/li>\n<li>It is excellent for low-power or intermittent-power data logging, or for data buffering where a fast data stream is required that can retain data even when the power is off. <\/li>\n<li>There are no pages to worry about, unlike with Flash or EEPROM.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Each byte can be read\/written 10,000,000,000,000 times<\/strong>, so there\u2019s no need to worry too much about \u2018wear levelling\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This FRAM chip has 256 Kbit (32 KByte) of memory, interfaces via I2C and can operate at I2C speeds of up to 1 MHz.<\/strong> Each byte can be read and written instantly (like SRAM), but at room temperature it will retain its data for 95 years.<\/p>\n<p>This product <strong>features the largest I2C chip<\/strong> and is also <strong>5V-compliant<\/strong>. You can use this chip with either a 3V or 5V power supply and logic.
