Our favourite treat when tinkering with electronics is a hot bowl of noodles \u2013 and in New York, they\u2019re often called \u2018noods\u2019! This product is a flexible LED strip \u2013 not good to eat, but great for creating lighting effects!<\/p>\n
This type of LED strip is used in \u2018Edison-style\u2019 LED bulbs, shaped like hearts or stars, or simply coiled to create a fun or cosy lighting effect. Each LED strand consists of dozens of micro LED diodes linked together on an ultra-flexible metal backing, and coated in coloured silicone to protect them. As the LEDs are in parallel, 3 V is required to power them (Note: it is recommended to limit the current with a resistor to a maximum of 50 mA).<\/p>\n
Each pack contains a 30 cm LED string. Add a touch of neon bling (like this NeoPixel ring<\/a>) to your miniature sets, doll\u2019s houses or other projects. These filaments have the look and feel we\u2019ve always wanted from EL wire, and as they\u2019re just a \u2018long, thin LED\u2019, you can easily dim them using PWM.<\/p>\n Simply power it with 3V by connecting both ends: the anode should be the metal end with a small hole. If it doesn\u2019t light up straight away, try connecting it the other way round \u2013 no problem.<\/p>\n
