Pico Display Pack: display LCD per il Pico

If you’ve always wanted a bright and colorful 1.14″ IPS LCD display with four handy buttons and an RGB LED for your Raspberry Pi Pico, Pico Display Pack is the perfect choice.

The vibrant LCD screen on Pico Display Pack is a 240×135 pixel, 18-bit IPS display that fits perfectly with your Raspberry Pi Pico. It features four tactile buttons that make it easy to interact with your Pico using just your fingers, along with an RGB LED that can be used as an indicator, for notifications, or more.

With Pico Display, you can build more advanced projects by turning your Pi Pico into a compact user interface device capable of providing instructions, displaying readings, and even supporting complex nested menus. Alternatively, if you prefer to use your Pi Pico as a standalone device, you could create a rotating mini slideshow of images, display graphs from sensor data, or even build your own Tamagotchi or tiny text-based adventure games.

Note: Raspberry Pi Pico is not included in this product and can be purchased separately here: Raspberry Pi Pico.

To use the Pico Display Pack, your Pico must have male headers soldered (with pins facing downward) so it can be connected to the Pico Display Pack.

Pico Display Pack Pinout

Pico Display Pack communicates with the LCD via SPI using the pins LCD_CS, LCD_DC, LCD_SCLK, and LCD_MOSI. PWM control is handled via the BL_EN pin (with gamma correction) for smooth and linear backlight control. LCD_RESET is connected to the RUN pin on the Pico, meaning the LCD will reset completely whenever the Pico is reset.

The four buttons are connected as SW_A, SW_B, SW_X, and SW_Y.

There is also an onboard RGB LED with PWM (gamma corrected) on pins LED_R, LED_G, and LED_B. This LED is ideal as an activity indicator. If you wish to repurpose these pins, there are three cuttable traces on the underside of the board.

Power is supplied via 3V3, meaning Pico Display Pack can be used with both USB power and external power sources (from 1.8V to 5.5V), making it ideal for battery-powered projects.

Getting Started with Pico Display Pack

Connect the Pico Display Pack to your Raspberry Pi Pico. The labels on the underside of the board will help guide you on the correct orientation—simply align the USB port with the markings on the board.

The easiest way to start programming the Pico Display Pack is to download and copy the custom MicroPython firmware onto your Pico, which includes all the necessary libraries. Refer to the product guide for more details.
