3V to 5V Level Booster QT
This fantastic Level Booster in breakout board format features two Stemma QT / Qwiic connectors, which will allow you to safely use your Raspberry Pi or ARM Cortex with 3V logic alongside accessories with 5V logic. When combining boards, you need to be careful about voltages; in other words, you cannot interface 5V logic devices with 3V logic ones. This breakout board solves the problem straight away, without risking damage to your I2C sensors from excessively high voltages.
On one side of the Level Booster board is the safe 3V power supply and its logic input. In the centre is a 5V regulator capable of supplying 100 mA (peak 250 mA) plus level-shifting circuits. On the opposite side is the same I2C trace but at 5V, to allow use with all sensors and devices that cannot operate at 5V.
Both STEMMA QT connectors on the board are compatible with I2C connectors. You can connect this board to a wide range of sensors and accessories using a compatible cable.
If you happen to be using a board that requires a 5V power supply but 3V I2C logic, you can solder the jumper on the back of the board to set the output logic level to 3V unshifted.
